AirTN NextGen

The Air Transport Network, AirTN NextGen, a CSA funded under FP7, creates a platform of networking and communication between regional, national and governmental organizations supporting research and innovation in the EU Member States and Associated Countries to the EU Framework Program in the field of Aviation.

Final AirTN NextGen Network Meeting

11 October 2016, Bratislava
The meeting was planned as a full day meeting in Bratislava, Slovakia on 11 October 2016. The primary objective of the meeting was to give an overview of the project results and to discuss on future cooperation possibilities. The meeting participants were representatives from: member states & associated countries, transport and education (or other relevant) ministries, funding agencies, ACARE national mirror groups, regional government and clusters in the field of aviation (e.g. aeronautics and air transport - AAT). Finally the AirTN Next Gen’s network was established, and during the AirTN Next Gen life the consortium collected a lot of information and mechanisms, as use of the structural funds to improve the aviation sector. The outlook for further progress on the Next AirTN programme could be the developement of an open platform for Member States interest and the development of a concept for a sustainable network (form, structure, funding…)

6th EASN International Conference on Innovation in European Aeronautics Research

18-21 October, Portugal
The EASN Association and the Conference Organizers would like to say a very big thank you to Workshop and Session Chairs, Authors and Presenters, the members of the Scientific Committee and everyone else who has contributed to make this Conference, the largest, broader and most comprehensive gathering of the Association yet.
The 6th EASN International Conference included 11 Thematic Workshops and 28 Technical Sessions where 216 Speakers from 29 Countries presented the latest advancements, innovations and researches in Aeronautics and Air Transport.

"EASA: Partners step up efforts to address the integration of drones into European airspace"

The European Commission's services (DG MOVE), the European Defence Agency (EDA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) are trying to intensify the efforts in order to implement the integration of drones in the European aviation but also in the Air Traffic Management system.
During the last meeting related to this action, held on October 27th, was proposed and accepted a new mechanism of coordination with the aim of addressing R&D and regulatory requirements linked to all the categories of RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems).
All the updates about the overarching technical, operational, financial and performance related needs and requirements for the integration of drones will be described in 2017.

INAIR 2016

The INAIR conference was a forum in which industry and academia met to exchange ideas and set up common challenges. The interaction between researchers and industry representatives was key in order to came up with innovative solutions for the challenges of the future.

7th EUCASS

3-6 July 2017, Milan, Italy
EUCASS is the main continental scientific event for aeronautics and space, second only to the AIAA Scitech in the USA. This issue is the seventh, after Moscow, Brussels, Versailles, Saint Petersburg, Munich and Krakow. It will, again, attract the very best players from EU and Russia plus the rest of Europe, Asia and the Americas, for a total anticipated attendance in excess of 700, scientists, engineers and exhibitors alike. Decision makers from Industry and Agencies are invited to express their needs and challenges.

7th EASN International Conference on Innovation in European Aeronautics Research

26–29 September 2017, Warsaw, Poland
During the three days of the Conference, the General Assembly of the EASN Association will be held. The General Assembly will discuss the achievements of the current Board of Directors and will set the frame and provide guidelines for the future activities of the association.
At the end of the General Assembly the effective EASN members will be called to elect the new Board of Directors that will lead the association for the next 3 years.
All EASN members are invited to join the General Assembly. Associate and non-EASN members are also welcome to participate and express their opinions but have no voting rights.
