AirTN NextGen
The Air Transport Network, AirTN NextGen, a CSA funded under FP7, creates a platform of networking and communication between regional, national and governmental organizations supporting research and innovation in the EU Member States and Associated Countries to the EU Framework Program in the field of Aviation.
The new year has just started. Before giving you an outlook on AirTN NextGen project activities in 2016 we look back on the main events in the recent year.
Activities performed and latest results
2nd AirTN NextGen Network Meeting
30 June, Vienna, Austria
The workshop was being organized jointly with the ACARE Member States Group. Focus of the workshop was to foster transnational cooperation in aviation research and technology. All results/presentations are publicly available on the AirTN website.
Workshop on Education and Training needs for Aviation Engineers and Researchers in Europe
23 September 2015, Brussels, Belgium
Focus of the workshop was the air transport industry education. It follows the first workshop on Educational and Training Needs (13 June 2014) which was focusing on aeronautic industry needs. The workshop has been organised within the AirTN NextGen project together with the ACARE Working Group and the European Commission.
AirTN NextGen at the Aerodays

The coordinator of AirTN NextGen has hold a presentation in the session “Aviation RTD Initiatives in EU Members States” on 20 October 2015.
AirTN NextGen also presented its activities and welcomed all interested participants at booth number 3-04 during the exhibition of the Aerodays.
INAIR 2015
12-13 November 2015, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The INAIR conference provided a forum for industry and academia to exchange ideas and set up common challenges. The interaction between researchers and industry representatives is key in order to come up with innovative solutions for the challenges of the future.
Outlook 2016
Research Infrastructure Catalog
The Research Infrastructure Catalog developed under AirTN FP7 and AirTN NextGen has been updated and will be published in January 2016 on www.airtn.eu.
3rd AirTN NextGen Network Meeting end of September 2016, Bratislava
Safe the date for the final AirTN NextGen Network Meeting and be informed about the outcomes of the project. We will inform you soon about the exact date and location of the event.
