Save the date! 1^st AirTN Nextgen Network Meeting on 27 October 2014, Brussels

AirTN Nextgen (www.airtn.eu) is a support action funded under the Framework Programme 7 to stimulate transnational cooperation in the aviation field for: RTD and innovation, research infrastructure related activities, education related activities. AirTN-Nextgen will strengthen and widen the aeronautical network established under previous AirTN projects to reach out towards aviation in H2020.

The 1^st AirTN Nextgen Network Meeting is planned as a full day meeting on 27 October 2014 in Brussels.

The primary objective of the meeting is to give an overview of the project goals and to present results achieved so far.

The foreseen agenda will cover the following points:

• existing actions and mechanisms for transnational (incl. international) cooperation;
• joint calls for aviation,
• Actions dedicated to research infrastructures;
• Actions dedicated to education and workforce mobility.

Furthermore, a session will be dedicated to an open discussion with the AirTN Nextgen Network on how to:

• stimulate practical opportunities to develop European cooperation in research and innovation in aviation;
• enhance transnational cooperation for research infrastructures;
• stimulate transnational cooperation in education and workforce mobility;
• stimulate co-operation of national funded research in support of technology initiatives on European scale such as Horizon 2020, Clean Sky, SESAR, etc.

Finally, the meeting will also identify win-win situations, barriers and solutions for improved trans-national cooperation in research, technological developments and innovation. These areas will then be addressed throughout the course of the project.

The meeting target participants are representatives from: member states & associated countries, transport and education (or other relevant) ministries, funding agencies, ACARE national mirror groups, regional government and clusters in the field of aviation (e.g. aeronautics and air transport - AAT).
